Dreamcatcher - Book Review

This book is about roughly four people. Those four people would be a Jonesy, Henry, Duddits, and Mr. Jonesy and Henry are close friends from the beginning and Duddits is also close friend but isn't introduced until later on in the story. Mr. Gray on the other hand is an alien from outer space. The story is set up when an alien space-ship crash lands on earth and its aliens come out to survive. These aliens bring with themselves a type of disease which appears like fungus. Along with this fungus comes an "implant." This "implant" looks like a weasel and has no arms or legs, but has a very sharp set of teeth. The "implant" is created when a human breaths in the fungus. It would ultimately be grown inside, like a parasite and eventually would tear open your skin eating you from the inside. Not all of those who are infected by the fungus will die, some are immune to it. Those, oddly enough, immune to it are Jonesy and Henry. Since Duddits never was near the fungus from the beginning, he never contracted it. The story goes starts off when an infected person, one also growing an implant, came across Henry. Since this story is very long, I"ll have to leave out brief details. Henry helped the man and allowed him to stay at the cabin he was in. The story would go on and the implant would hatch when his friend and him were in the cabin. The implant would go on to kill his friend, but he would remain alive only to be taken under the control of Mr. Gray. While this happened, Henry and his friend were traveling to the cabin where they "ran" into a woman. Their car flipped over and they were helpless. Henry and his friend both helped the woman, who was also infected and growing an implant, to a shelter. With that done, Henry set off for the cabin to get help from Jonesy. While Henry was off, his friend went back to the car to get a drink of beer; when Henry came back, he saw that the woman had died. Unknown to him, the implant was on the roof of the shelter waiting for him.
