Huck


             Usually in novels, there are symbol that represents something. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain is the story about Huckleberry who runs away and travels around with Jim. In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, there is the river represents to me such as freedom, mature of Huckleberry Finn, and a connection with Jim and Huckleberry, .
             First, the river represents freedom. Huck does not like follow any rules and he does not like he is interfere from someone. He likes uncivilized way better. When Huck's father kidnaps Huck to the woods, Huck wants to escape from his father. He decides to run away from his father one day, so he makes a plan to escape. He set up all that people think he kills by someone. He uses a canoe for escape. He finally runs away form his father, go into the river. He wants to be free. When he gets out the woods, and he floats downstream to Jackson's Island. Now he actually be free. Jim who is Miss Watson's slave, he wants to escape after he overhearing that she wants to sell him to traders from down south. Jim also escapes to the river as Huck. Both Huck and Jim use the river as their a place of refuge. In this novel, every time when they have to escape from something they uses the river. When King and Duke makes a comedy, and they are trying to trick with town people so they can easily earn money. The town people are angry to them, Duke, King, Huck, and Jim run away form the town. They run to the river and float again. Also, Tom and Huck make plan that make Jim to be free. They do a lot of stuff, such as write massages in blood, get spiders, snakes, and flowers, and they send a warning letters. When they make a plan, the plan was very complicates. But when they escape, they only use the river, nothing else. The river represents as freedom.
             Second , the river represents mature of Huckleberry. Before his travels, he is a very young boy and he is just an immature boy with a superficial view of everything.
