Description of the Attack On Pearl Harbor

Description of the Attack on Pearl Harbor- December 7, 1941.
Japan must have planned the attack many weeks before the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. President Roosevelt declared, "The Japanese government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States, by false statements, and expressions of hope for continued peace.".
Japan attacked America for the fact that they were becoming desperate for more natural resources. The United States was in strict opposition to Japan's plans, and began their reaction with an embargo on the shipment of oil to Japan. Oil was necessary to keep Japan's technology and military progressing. Without it, Japan's industrial and military forces would come to a stop in only a short time. Japan's government viewed the oil embargo as an act of war. .
Japan planned to attack us where it would hurt most, the heart of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The unexpected attack on Pearl Harbor leaded to a great impact on all Americans. 8 American battleships and 13 other naval vessels were sunk or badly damaged. Almost 200 American aircrafts were destroyed, and more than 3,000 naval and military personnel's were killed or severely wounded.
Japan planned to ship over seas about half the way un till about the point where their planes could take off and make it to Pearl Harbor and back. One of the most heavily-used Japanese fighter plane was the Mitsubishi A6M Zero. These planes were a main way of destroying or damaging our battleships, aircrafts and even killing our people. These planes were light, fast, and maneuverable. They could probably circle around our planes.
The Americans thought they were facing a "wonder weapon." The Mitsubishi A6M Zero pilots were superb also. Overcompensating for their previous, negative stereotypes of the Japanese as imitative "little yellow bastards," the American fliers regarded the Zero with too much respect. In fact, the Zero was a very good aircraft, but one with distinct weaknesses.
