             I included this quote because it shows a good reflection of Daisy's character. It is important because it has a very strong meaning to it. This line shows that Daisy is a bit more opinionated than she seemed previously in the story. These lines show that Daisy feels hopeless. The effect of her thought is that you can clearly see she does not like the place women take in today's society. I really see what she said as all a girl's purpose to do is be pleasant and pretty and that is the role women have taken. I really think she is saying a lot and making a big statement that I agree with.

             "Don't believe everything you hear Nick.".
             I included this quote because it was a good thing to be considered in the story. The connection to previous actions in the story is that a lot of things that are told, are found out to be untrue. This shows that just because Nick may lie sometimes, he's not the only one. Gossip and rumor are a part of the story and being gullible would not be good.

             "She looked at me with an absolute smirk on her lovely face as if she had asserted her membership in a rather distinguished secret society to which she and tom belonged.
             I included this quote because it seems as Nick may not feel so comfortable around these people. Daisy and Tom have a connection as if they know something others don't. This created a theme of every man for himself and set each character on a different level. I thought that Nick was not the same as those around him and each character had a separate feel to them.
