Edison created a brand new company titled Edison General Electric, which eventually dropped his name and became General Electric(Aldair 55). Undoubtedly, Edison's leadership qualities in the area of economics drove our nation and the entire world to new ages of technology.
Thomas Edison could be described as man that was a "lazy hard worker", meaning he always worked relentlessly at his inventions but his intentions always had the thought of making people's lives easier. Once again many of the ways Edison affected our nation's anthropology were developed through his inventions. Unfortunately, most of these same inventions are taken for granted by our society. A major benefit of electricity that is often ignored is that electricity gives us the ability to have cheap, affordable refrigeration (Aldair 32). Edison's strides in electricity and refrigeration have affected everyone's lives and how we live them. Moreover, the light bulb is another invention taken for granted. One expects the light to come on when we flip but the switch, but the minute the power fails, we are thoughtfully reminded what our lives would be with out them, especially at night and during the winter. Lastly, his invention of the first practical electric passenger train had the individual at its heart. His main intention behind the invention of an electrical train was that the ride would be a faster, smoother ride than a steam train (Edison). This changed the way we traveled around the country immensely. Edison truly affected the way our people lived then and do live today.
Edison changed the entire world, not just the United States of America. His advancements in creating the electric age, the long-distance audibility and the replication thereof have changed the world forever. His legacy of over 1000 patents throughout his life definitely shows an impact on America's history. In fact, Edison's light bulb has changed very little over the years.
