The Differences Between Shakespeare Theatre and the

            The Globe Theatre is a modern day theatre, which shows Shakespeare performances. It was created so that people could watch and learn about Shakespeares plays. It is an up to date and very modern way of watching Shakespeare's works. The thing about the Globe is that it was also a theatre in Shakespeare's time. It also played his works then.
             The Globe in Shakespeare's time was a twenty-sided structure. The plays were staged in the afternoons, using the light of day, and the audience surrounded the stage on all sides. No scenery was used, except for occasional throne or a bed. It was almost impossible not to see the other half of the audience standing behind the players. There was not much realism in the acts.
             There were different types of people who went to the theatre in Shakespeare's time. For them this gave them a sense of being somewhere special. As many of them had very simple, plain homes as they could not afford decorations. Some people were very poor and would pay a penny to stand down the front to watch the performances. This was a lot cheaper than being anywhere else in the theatre as it allowed the poorer people to watch. The standing audience was usually very involved in the performance.
             There are many different theatres today they cater for different types of plays. They are different shapes and sizes. This means that lots of different types of plays can be performed all over the country. Today there are many new staging devises used such; lighting systems, Sound systems and very good scenery. These all add to the excitement of going to the theatre. It makes it more life like and enjoyable for the person who is watching the play. There is so much technology today and it is good that some of it is being put into the theatres to make it even more enjoyable. The theatre today is very popular probably even more popular than back in Shakespeare's time. Lots of people go to the theatre as a good night out.
