The Worst Day Ever

The empty pit in my stomach growled as the cold December rain poured down on my head. "What the hell is going on?" I thought to myself. "Is god telling me I"m a terrible person?" Up until this chapter in my life, I have never felt this incredibly down. Not in my entire existence on the planet earth . The frozen water drops clung to the front of my hair, and soaked me to my core. The cold bit at me, like a rabid dog tearing away my soul. "Is this happening to me!? Is this Real?" My mind was throbbing. I thought back to the night previous to where my life seemed to start the downward spiral. I was 16, had a brand new car, a gorgeous girlfriend, and I was spending the night at a party with the people I loved to be around most. Everything was fantastic. I was young, invincible even, and life was good. .
My girlfriend was a cheerleader for Kelso High School, a skinny brunette with a huge smile and nice figure. It seemed that if I knew what love was, I was most likely it in waist deep. The only problem with her was she had one particular flaw, just like everyone else. Unfortunately for me, her flaw proved to be fatal. My girlfriend was an attention JUNKIE. If there was attention to get, she wallowed in it like a pig in mud. The more popular you were, the more your attention was worth. This fine night in December when the sky was clear and everything seemed just right, something changed. The river of time had a ripple; the circle of life became off axis. My attention was no longer enough for my so-called beloved. It was worth one-one hundredth of a cent like some stinking store coupon. The boys from the other schools were more important than life to her that night, and that lit the fuse that was connected to the dynamite packed in our relationship's bloated buttocks. It ended with a bang like most of them do. We parted ways for good that night, with words that should be set in type as a cautionary tale for future lovers.
