This past week I have been monitoring my level of motivation. There was three times when I was highly motivated. During them times when I was highly motivated I was having specific thoughts and feelings about what I was doing.
On Wednesday I meet with the director of Occupational Therapy, Katharine Wilson. I started to notice when I was driving to the downtown campus that I was feeling nervous. I was organizing what I wanted to accomplish at our meeting in my thoughts. When I walked into the building and got on the elevator, I could hear voices of other students. I saw many students walking around in their uniforms for their occupation. Katharine Wilson was very personable so I felt very comfortable at the meeting. I was able to walk out of her office with a plan of what classes I wanted to take for the next two years. I knew that my motivation was high as I was walking to the car because I was excited and sure of myself for this field.
Another time I felt highly motivated was when I was speaking with Susan Jacobs my psychology instructor. I was feeling worried that I did not achieve the score I wanted on my last test. I was also thinking thoughts of self-encouragement because I was seeking help. When we were talking, other students were rushing by. In here office it was quite with the voices of other professors talking. Susan gave me helpful hints for psychology. Being sure of myself and thinking positively let me know that my motivation was high. I left school that day feeling really sure of my goals for my next test. .
The third and final time this past week when I was very motivated was at the end of the day on Thursday. As I walked into my apartment, my cat greeted me at the door. When I shut the door, I heard the voices of my neighbors. I sat down on the chair feeling very drained from this week. I was thinking that I was stressing myself out unnecessarily. Then I started picturing my self finishing school.
