            In the book Bless The Beasts And Children by Glen Swarthout the characters have evolved and made contributions to the group. Also, each boy has matured but has had many troubles and difficulties at home. By the end of the novel the characters are very different people. They changed throughout the book.
             Each character had a difficult home life. Cottons mother had several boyfriends. Every time his mom goes out on a date she lies about his age. They also place a high emphasis on money. Teft's home life is that they have high expectations of him and he constantly fails to meet them. Goodenow comes from a troubled background. He has trouble adjusting to his stepfather. His real father died when he was four. His father is unsympathetic. When Goodenow wets his bed he gets very angry at him. Shecker's home life is also troubled. His dad is a famous comic. His dad values money and tries to pay people off to protect his son. Lally one and Lally two are brothers. They don't get along very much. There parents are never around. They live in a big house and has grown up in a wealthy family. They're parents separate periodically, but when they get back together they go on a big vacation to solve everything. As we can see the boys have very difficult home life's and they're parents are doing very good parenting at all.
             Throughout the novel the boys have matured deeply. Each one had changed in their own way. Goodenow was very dependent on his mother and now he is independent and accepts risks. Also his stepfather tormented him and kept quiet about it, now he tells the group about his stepfathers comments. Goodenow is a dynamic character which is a character that grows or changes as the story progresses. Lally one wasn't nice to his brother and now he is. Lally one was a coward and now he is braver. He is a dynamic character. Lally two always needed his pillow and towards the end he threw it away. Lally two was also scared of the horse , but then he conquers his fear and wins a race with a horse.
