Summary of the Declaration of Independence

The Declaration of Independence was written as a set of guidelines by the founders of our nation. The patriots had fought against England and her rule from over seas and had finally won their freedom. In this famous documents, Thomas Jefferson states all of the reasons that the new Americans sought after freedom from Britain. The whole declaration is a list of rights which the Americans rewarded themselves with such as the freedom to pursue their own lifestyles, freedom and happiness. Jefferson goes on the lay down many specific examples of what the king of Britain had done (".He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary Powers."). He makes it very clear that from that point on end, the country will no longer be governed in the way that it had been. They now possessed freedoms that they had been denied for so long (" Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness-) and that those rights will be secured by all means, in order that they would never be deprived of them again. He describes a new way of government, a new judicial system, a new legion in case of war and officially denounces Britain as its ruler.
The most important idea of the document is freedom. The patriots had gone against the British in bloody war fare and defeated their mother land. They no lo0nger were under England's rule. They were no longer obligated to pay taxes to Britain, they did not have to worry about being represented or not in England's political system, they could worship whoever or whatever they wanted and they were now free to live in any way they pleased. .
