            The field of finance is a wide and broad field in the business world. One specific occupation in the field of finance is financial manager. Financial managers held about 653,000 jobs in 2000. The demand for managers is high because financial managers are found in almost every industry. Some industry examples are business, health, social, and management services. With the growing economy, the opening and creating of more financial manager position can only increase to help satisfy the demand of the dynamic economy. There are many different titles for financial managers. These different titles include chief financial officer, vice president of finance, controller, treasurer, credit manager, and cash manager. All of these positions have specific and unique duties. The chief financial officers oversee all the financial and accounting. They also administer the financial plans and policies. Controllers direct the preparation of financial reports that summarize a company's financial position. Treasurers are in charge of an organization's financial goals, objectives, and budgets. Cash managers monitor and control cash receipts and disbursements. And last of all, credit managers manage the firm's issuance of credit.
             Financial managers have comfortable working conditions. They work in the financial department close to the top management. It is common for financial managers to work long hours, often up to 50 or 60 per week. They are required to attend financial and economic meetings. In addition, they may also travel a lot to visit other firms and meet with customers.
             Education and training is a very important aspect of this occupation. Normally candidates wishing to be financial managers must have a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration. However, more and more employers are looking for graduates with a master's degree. There are two ways to be promoted.
