In "Hamlet", by Shakespeare, the main character and protagonist is Hamlet. Hamlet always feels revengeful towards his mother, Gertrude. The fact that Hamlet's father dies, is the main point that leads to his revengeful attitude. Hamlet wants to hurt his mother because she got married to Claudius so fast after his father's death. He thought that this was disrespectful since she was happy instead of mourning over his father's death (1.2.129-159). Due to his mother acting this way, he feels that he needs to claim revenge and show her that she should have mourned over King Hamlet's death. This theme ties into Frankenstein since the monster is also trying to claim revenge over his "mother, " Victor Frankenstein. .
"Frankenstein", by Marry Shelley, is centered on Victor Frankenstein. Early on in the book, Victor gets interested in the science of anatomy and wonders where life comes from. He goes on to collect body pieces and then creates a monster from them. The monster does not look beautiful, but rather scary and unattractive. A common behavior in society is to shun scary and unattractive people.
