Kiera Knightly and the Two Elizabeths

Starring in over a dozen movies, Keira Knightly had two of her best roles when she starred in "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Pride and Prejudice." For the famous actress, going from a pirate scene to an English scene in the 1800's was just a walk in the park. Elizabeth Swann, the star of "Pirates of the Caribbean," and Elizabeth Bennett, the star of "Pride and Prejudice," have many similarities, but are also noted for their refreshing differences. The two women are similar in the fact that they are both beautiful, strong women. However, when most people compare the roles of Keira Knightly in Pirates of the Caribbean and Pride and Prejudice, they do not realize the major differences of both story-lines. These differences range from differences with things such as family backgrounds, the love life, and the action in each film. .
The family backgrounds of both characters differ immensely. Elizabeth Swann was the daughter of Governor Weatherby Swann; she grew up in a giant mansion with just her father. They were considered upper classed and wealthy during their time period. Elizabeth and her father were well respected and looked upon as adored people throughout the town. On the other hand, Elizabeth Bennett came from a poor, deprived family. Her family consisted of Mr. and Mrs. Bennett and her four sisters. Instead of two people living in a large house, all seven Bennett's lived in a relatively small house for that amount of people during their time period. The Bennett's were considered to be in the lowest middle class; townspeople of Longbourne looked down upon the Bennett's for not having near enough money for such a big family of girls. .
The love life of Elizabeth Swann from "Pirates of the Caribbean" and the love life of Elizabeth Bennett from "Pride and Prejudice" have much diversity. Elizabeth Swann had always been curious about Will Turner ever since she met him among ship wreckage when she was twelve years old.
