Gangs


            
             Gangs today are no different from the gangs of the 1900's. These Gangs have so many similar characteristics. They also have ways in which they are different. Gangs from the 1900's had mob leaders and gang leaders just like today's leaders. Each mob or gang had to make profits and each gang had there very own way to make these profits. Another major factor of the gang and street life was the most feared violence. Gangs would beat and kill for money that was needed to pay and employ. Gangs, every one knew of them but little spoke of them. .

             Violence, the one thing every one thinks about when they hear the word gangs. Gangs today beat and murder other gangs or even innocent civilians for money reasons or even respect in a gang. Today a lot of gang murders occur because of drug money or drugs them selves. The major factor from the 1900's was the alcohol. Not so much drugs involved back then. One of the major alcohol movers from the 1900's was Al Capone.

             During the early 1900's the African American race formed most of the gangs and groups in the western Los Angelus area. Each gang had names, as well as the gang members did. Most gangs in the early 1900's were located in the west coast area and far east areas. Now a days gangs can be found all around the world. Some of the main gang states in the United States would be Los Angelus, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Georgia.

             One of the most popular gang and mob leaders in the 1900's was Al Capone. Capone was feared by many and known by all. Al Capone's mob business considered of alcohol sale and trade. Just like Gatsby, Al Capone made his fortunes by doing criminal activity. Capone threw parties with many people, big parties just like Gatsby. Al Capone had his enemies just like Jay Gatsby did. These two characters are very similar and show the same traits. Jay Gatsby did the same illegally business to get his money, bootlegging. Just like Capone, this brought in all his money and helped him live the luxurious life that he did.
