X-Ray Diffraction Analysis

Hexagonal barium ferrite (BaFe12O19) crystallizes into hexagonal structure of space group: P 63m m c (No. 194), and with the lattice parameters .
             a = 5.8920 Ao and c = 23.1830 Ao [1] (See Figure 1).
BaFe12O19 compound possesses high uniaxial magnetic anisotropy, high Curie temperature, large saturation magnetization, high coercive force, excellent chemical stability and high corrosion resistivity.
BaFe12O19, has been synthesized using various routes including conventional ceramic method, chemical co-precipitation, glass crystallization, organometallic precursor routes, pyrosol method, sol "gel processing, hydrothermal process at low temperature (140oC) and under magnetic field (o.25 T ).Ba- hexaferrite has wide range of applications including high-density magnetic and magneto-optic recording media [2]. .
In the recent decades, considerable attention has been drawn to nanoscale magnetic materials, because of both their interesting physical properties and the wide range of their potential applications, compared to the bulk materials prepared by conventional methods [2].
In this project, Nanocrystalline BaFe12O19 was prepared using mechanical alloying starting for a mixture of pure BaO and α-Fe2O3 precursors. We will be interested to prepare BaFe12O19 nanoparticle with enhanced properties. The crystal structure and the magnetic properties of the prepared powder were analyzed and discussed.
             2 Calculations.
             BaO + 6 Fe2O3 BaFe12O19.
             The Atomic Mass: .
             - of Ba= 137.32 g .
             - of Fe= 55.847 g .
             - of O= 15.9994 g.
             - of BaFe12O19 = 1 Ã- 137.32 + 12 Ã- 55.847 + 19 Ã- 15.994.
             then BaFe12O19= 1111.473 g .
             1 gram of BaFe12O19 contains: .
             - 0.1235 g of Ba .
             - 0.6029 g of Fe .
             - 0.2735 g of O .
To Find how much gram we need of BaO and α-Fe2O3: .
             - 1 gram of BaO 0.8957 g of Ba.
             1378 g of BaO 0.1235 g of Ba.
             - 1 gram of α-Fe2O3 0.6994 g of Fe .
             8620 g of α-Fe2O3 0.
