            The complete name of Ptolemy is Claudius Ptolemy, and he is considered as the most dominant astronomer, anthologist, writer, geographer and mathematician of his time and ancient world. The complete name of Ptolemy is a mixture of Greek word and Roman word. Claudius is a Roman word while on the other hand the Ptolemy is a Greek word. The people in the world do not know much about the early life of Ptolemy. According to Theodore Meliteniotes, he was born in AD 85 and died in AD 165 and according him, Ptolemy belongs to Alexandria, Egypt. Also, according to Theodore Meliteniotes in 1360, Claudius Ptolemy was born in Hermiou. Hermiou is located in the upper Egypt near the Alexandria. It is also believed by many historian that, Ptolemy was fall away from a Greek family and he was the citizen of Rome. .
             Ptolemy is considered as the first anthologist and it is believed that the knowledge of Ptolemy came to him from many countries such as Greece, Egypt, Babylonia and Chaldea. His spoken cosmology has become known in the world by the initials of his name which is Claudius. Ptolemy's work in many field has generated more discussion and debates in the world as compared to any other individual's work in the world. Some very well known historian claimed that Ptolemy was a great mathematician, astrologist and geographer and they nominates his work in one of the top rank works in the world while on the other hand, some historian claimed that he played a crime activity in a way that he steal the work of other scientist and revealed their work by his name. Ptolemy explores his observations in many fields. According to an estimate by Theodore Meliteniotes that the first observation made by Ptolemy was on 26 March 127 and according to him the date of his last observation is 2 February 141. .
             The work of Ptolemy including the theories and books are playing a vital role in order to serve knowledge to the current astronomers, mathematician and geographers.
