            The Zhou dynasty a Chinese dynasty was established during the period of 1122-256 B. The Zhou dynasty was started by Emperor Ku. Emperor Ku was known as a cultural hero after stepping in a great footprint. Emperor Ku was nicknamed the "the Abandoned One" because he was abandon 3 three times by his mother. He contributed to improving the Xia agriculture. After helping improve the agriculture of Xia he was granted lordship and ancestral name Ji. The Ji family consisted of 39 family members in which held control of the military and politics. The Ji ruled all of china until 771 BC. .
             According to traditions and encounters the Zhou dynasty was the foundation of Chinese formed during that period. Moreover the Zhou dynasty ruled ancient china for almost an era. The Zhou had several accomplishments such as establishing distinctive political and cultural characteristics that would remain in china for the next two thousand years. In addition the Zhou dynasty lasted the longest than any other china dynasty in Chinese history. Ji was the ancestral name for the Zhou dynasty. During the Zhou Dynasty there were several new resources introduced during the Zhou era. The Zhou dynasty introduced the use of iron to China. This would be significant to Chinese history in which many considered being the beginning of bronze ware making. In addition to new resources ox-drawn plows, crossbows, horseback riding, and water control projects were all introduced. .
             The introduction to new resources would be significant because it increased crop harvest in china. In addition the communication system was greatly improved because of the construction of new roads and canals. Moreover this would increase trade developing town's growth. The coinage and writing system was also developed. The Zhou dynasty also introduced the use of chopsticks. The Zhou dynasty would also expand its written scripts. The written scripts would later evolve to old ancient scripts.
