For many decades, fossil fuels have always been considered a reliable and well-developed source of energy; they had offered the world the possibility to evolve in terms of transportation, industry and technology. Moreover, the energy systems and structures established in order to feed the cities all around the world are exclusively designed for the usage of fossil fuels. Despite of everything mentioned before, the exploitation of fossil fuels seems to have some issues (mostly long term consequences) and just a few encourage themselves to discuss the disadvantages of these resources, such as their contribution to the global warming, their unsustainable condition and the problematic originated in regards to the abuse of non-renewable resources. .
For anybody is a secret that coal, petroleum and natural gas are the main contributors of global warming, perhaps the main problem that face fossil fuels nowadays is that they are not eco-friendly, the incredible amount of gasoline and coal used by cars and industries everyday emits a huge quantity of carbon to the atmosphere, this originates what it is called the greenhouse effect, a phenomenon that affects the weather worldwide, even in some cases, it provokes natural disasters, like floods and droughts. Due to the importance of this manner, the government and their specific institutions have the duty to impose restrictions related with the amount of carbon emitted by products and machines. .
Another relevant manner to discuss is that the fossil fuels as sources of energy are unsustainable, which means passed certain time, we are not going to be able to take advantage of them anymore. Because fossil fuels are limited there is not a guarantee that they will be available to be used in the future, that's why people and companies should concern about different alternatives for obtaining energy, ones that could be used in a long term.
