The Importance of Reading and Writting

Many people have a special hate for writing and reading, some say it's simply just because they don't like to read or write, but if they look deeper into it there is probably a more probable cause for despising these benevolent skills. These aren't just something that we have to use to get through school and never use again, these are tools that we will use for the rest of our lives, and rather it be to write a resume for a job or just to read a good book for entertainment. Although reading and writing isn't many people's idea of fun these are very essential in our ability to achieve our higher goals. In my case it took a while before I could realize how much I actually like to read and write. .
I started in the same general way that others do, mom and dad reading to me throughout my childhood and learning my ABC's with those little annoying books that had the lines with every letter on a different lines. Some of my fondest memories are sitting on my bed watching my mom and dad make fools of their selves trying to act out "Where the Wild Things are ". I can remember my dad looking me in the face while acting out Pinocchio saying, "I'm a real boy ". These things were key essentials in growing up, and besides I'll never forget how big of an idiot my dad was when he did this. I can also remember my mom wanting to cuss and me when she was trying to teach me my ABC's. she never knew it but half the time I got them wrong on purpose because I thought it was hilarious to watch her explode, and besides if I messed up enough times she would promise me that if I got the next one right she'd take me to sonic and get ice cream. Let me say that I messed up on Q and P quite a bit just so I could get my M&M blast from sonic. These memories made reading and writing so much fun until I hit my 5th grade year. This was my first year for essays.
In the 5th grade I can remember the first essay I ever wrote and the reason I remember it is because my mom was the women that put everything on the fridge to show off how good her children did.
