I thought about why I had gotten so tense when I was speaking to Sarah's father. After all we had been dating for three and a half months and I had been over to her house for dinner quite a few times. Although the walk from Sarah's house to mine took only about ten minutes, it felt like it had taken an eternity to get home.
The ominous dark clouds that hovered over me like an menacing wasp, sent chills down my spine. I never considered myself to be psychic, but deep inside of me, I just felt as if something was going to go wrong and a fateful situation would take place. I shook off those thoughts like a dog getting rid of his fleas, and I thought about Sarah, who was able to paint a smile on my face even when she wasn't with me. My love for her was a never-ending carousel. .
I arrived home, anxious to go to my room and just drop myself onto my cozy bed and catch some Z's. I bundled myself up in bed with my navy blue comforter that was as fluffy as a rabbit's tail, adjusted my pillows until they felt just right against my head like Cinderella's glass slipper felt on her feet, and then my eyes went on strike. I was awakened by my mother's gentle touch, "Good evening dear. It's almost 8:30 and Sarah is downstairs in the living room." I felt like I was in a daze. I always felt that way when I was awakened from a deep sleep. "Hi Mom, could you please tell her to come upstairs to my room?" I requested politely. "Of course sweetie. Just a minute." My mom gave me a kiss on the cheek and then disappeared from my view. Moments later Sarah appeared, flopping down on my bed next to me, embracing me while she rubbed her head against my shoulder like a puppy, to comfort me. "What's wrong my Justin? Are you feeling okay?" Sarah questioned me with her child-like voice. "I am alright babe. The weather just made me so exhausted. I didn't know you were coming over, or I would have woken up earlier." "Oh that's okay Justin, I know how you feel, the weather is just so miserable.
