The song complicated really speaks to me, and it's a really great song that tells a lot about my self and my life today. Actually, it tells a lot about everyone's life. The title alone can explain something about the whole world, and how everything can be so complicated. There are those people who are out there, that are serial killers, but then there are those people who give thousands of dollars to charity. It's complicated, and not everyone can make it through hard times.
I can relate this to my life by saying, that one time, which was a few weeks ago, I was just about to fall off the edge, and about lost it. It was bad. I was failing two of my classes at school, and I was grounded at home. I didn't know what to do. I was unwanted, and losing grip (two of Avril Lavigne's other songs) and life was complicated. I continued on, and it got better, my grades were coming up, which was good, and I almost wasn't grounded anymore. Now I am proud to say that I have all my grades 80 and above (almost).
The words do go really well with the music in this song, because the lyrics say the exact opposite of the song name (complicated). The music is easy going and uses words like, chill out, lay back, and if you could only let it be. The words appeal to me because; they symbolize life, peace, happiness, and calmness. The words and music remind me of my friends and me just hanging out on the week end eating ice cream watching a scary movie. I don't know why that's what they remind me of, and it may seem weird, but that's what they remind me of.
Any song can be a good song, but in my opinion, a really good song has to be one you can relate to your life and it has to remind you of something. Complicated is a great up beat song to listen to, and THANKS for singing it Avril L. .
