Brainwashing and Reconditioning

Our prison system is like a pot boiling over. The amount of criminals filling those walls are growing at an alarming rate. In the movie, A Clockwork Orange, the government believes they have the answer. The government feels that they can lower the number of violent people in the system and make themselves look noble at the same time. Could something like this be possible? The government believes so. In A Clockwork Orange, the government shows us how and why they believe this to be true. Their agenda behind this is to make themselves look good in the public's eye. In A Clockwork Orange, they attempt and succeed in brainwashing a violent person, Alex. Can the government control people with brainwashing or reconditioning as they would like to call it? With my research, I have found that brainwashing is plausible. All you need is a reason, a person to act upon and the techniques to brainwash a person.
Not everyone can be brainwashed or reconditioned. According to Memorise.org, "Neuroscientists believe some people can be more easily brainwashed than others, but under the right conditions it is possible for anyone to become brainwashed." If this is possible, then we could have hundreds of thousands of violent criminals applying for the reconditioning treatment that is offered in the movie A Clockwork Orange. If we could change a violent person into a non-violent person, the government would be able to abolish Capital punishment. In 2012, there were 57 countries that upheld Capital punishment. Within those countries, the people that were put to death ran into the thousands. The percent of people against Capital punishment outweighs those people who are for it. If the government was able to use brainwashing on those who are considered violent, they would be able to put an end to the death penalty. The government could win the respect of many people in their country if they were able to abolish Capital punishment.
