Diary of Alaric - King of the Visigoths

It is today that I'm most proud, for the people have pronounced me as King of the Visigoths. Although a daunting task, I, Alaric, successor to Althanaric, am up for the challenge. It is now that the people need me, especially at a very delicate moment as the evil Huns have raided us numerous times, and the ever-so dear Roman Empire may be at risk. It is prominent that we keep ties with the Roman Empire who have offered their assistance in assisting to defend their empire. We are forever in their debt and there is no better time to rise to the occasion and prove ourselves to the Roman Empire. Although I worry about our tribes, I'm confident that we will prevail in battle.
             Entry 2: Beginning of 395.
Our style of battle differs from the rest; us Goths fight with passion, honor, and great zeal. We strive to prove ourselves on the battleground, and are eager to earn our pride fighting alongside the Roman Empire. The reason why I'm so confident in our ability to be victorious in our efforts to aid the Roman Empire is because of my previous battles in which I was victorious. As of late, it has come to my attention that the Roman Empire has been using my people as a buffer between their enemies. My goal was to help the Roman Empire, but my patience is slowly wearing thin. I don't want to put my men in danger and have their efforts wasted. I believe that the Roman Empire is worried about their reign. I hope these rumors are put to rest and we can continue with the preliminary execution of defeating their enemies in battle. .
             Entry 3: Mid of 395.
This has been a difficult time for me and my people, for things that have been promised seem to have gone amiss and we have been stranded without supplies that the Roman Empire promised us. Have we Visigoths not earned our keep? On our side, we are struggling to make ends meet and are heavily relying on the contribution of the Roman Empire to help our soldiers and their families.
