Batman and Superman - Who's the Real Hero?

When searching for the definition of a "hero", it is hard to find a precise answer. That is because; a hero can vary between each person accordingly to one's personal beliefs, and/or perceptions. Stories that involve heroes have been around for many years, mostly through fairytales and comics. In comics, the hero is usually referred to as a superhero. Superheroes can come in many different styles, although some have common characteristics. Each has some type of power or ability that is beyond natural to humans. Between two well-known superheroes, Batman and Superman, there is no exact answer to which one personal preferences determine which superhero one may find as the better choice. A superhero is a very powerful person, who has both strengths as well as weaknesses. They each have certain characteristics that allow them to have noble achievements, and if going by the definition of a superhero, it is Batman who would be the one to choose.
Batman lacks the immortality side of what superheroes are best known for, superpowers. He is fully human and that is what poses the question of him being a great superhero. He does have wonderful strength from many years of martial arts training and has exquisite mental abilities that allow him to be more successful. In the origin story of Batman mentioned by White and Arp (2008), not long after his parents' death, Bruce Wayne makes an oath: "And I swear by the spirits of my parents to avenge their deaths by spending the rest of my life warring on all criminals." Considering this promise has been brought back in many of his stories, it is his parents' death that was a defying moment of Bruce's life. Batman tends to be aggressive in some situations, but only because of his love for good and his hate for bad and evil. He has a strong hatred toward criminals and he loves to see them suffer (White & Arp, 2008). Batman never states that he will kill the criminal, and that is because Batman does not kill.
