Film Review - A Knight's Tale

            Have you ever wondered how much of the Movie a knight's tale is real and unreal, well I have and in my opinion this movie was very unrealistic. There are a few reasons why this movie is unrealistic. One of them is the whole basis of the movie of how a knight's squire would just take his place after his death. Another would be how Sir William the squire that took the knights place in the film would actually think of breaking his social class to joust in tournament as a knight. But there are also many things the film depicts correctly. Those are just some of the reasons why I think this movie is more unrealistic than realistic.
             The basis of this movie has a very touchy idea to it. The man William in the movie is with his other two servant friends helping their lord or knight in a jousting competition. But before the knight is about to joust in the competition the squire and the servant find their knight dead under a tree. After this the squire decides to take the knights place in the competition so they can all get money and eat and survive. He joins the tournament as sir Ulrich and wins and then decides to keep winning tournaments to become wealthy and live a life of glory. This first of all was not something a person would do in the middle ages. In most cases if the person is discovered they would most likely be hung or publicly humiliated. This is even shown in the first scene of the film when he decides to be the knight and there are the dead peasants hanging from nooses in the background. But this goes with one of the quotes from the film "A man can't change the stars." This was the idea that just because a man is poor he can't change his life because he is poor. That is the first main reason why this film is unrealistic.
             The next main reason this film is unrealistic is because of how the girl that refines sir Ulrich's armor makes it out of some sort of super-heated iron.
