The Freemasons - America's Oldest Secret Society

There are three degrees on Masonry including Entered Apprentice Freemason, Fellow Craft, and Master Mason (Dryfoos 2).The longer time spent in the Lodge normally determines the degree of Mason one tends to be with contributors such as good works and intensive new learnings. There are requirements in order to become a Freemason though which include one must have a good reputation in terms of morals, have some belief in a supreme being (doesn't matter which one), and must be capable of being a good Mason in the lodge assigned to one Freemasonry although highly believed as one is not a religion but merely a brotherhood (NPR 1). Based off the history of the Mason actions the wrongs they are accused of cannot be valid in arguing if they are good or bad for society.
Many historians and scholars are still torn on whether the idea of Freemasonry is good or bad for America. Through extensive research and studies on the secret group many scholars believe that the entire Mason society hurt the country when in fact they don't. The Masons have been around for many years and have done no wrong to America and have proven to do well for society. With almost 6 million Freemasons worldwide the crimes they are accused of committing cannot be a credible conclusion to the Freemason society (Karg and Young 12). Today the Masons are still heavily involved with charity work and trying to embrace the power of giving back to the community. Masons worldwide give a big chuck of their hard earned salary to the Lodge they belong to, as very similar to a church, in which most goes to good deeds worldwide and in the individual areas they are linked to. With what the Masons do for America and the world it is very hard to imagine that the Masons do wrong for this nation.
The idea of Masons controlling the way the government works isn't correct because of document works of Freemasonry. Some people say that since a lot of U.
