Aphrodite of Melos


            Aphrodite of Melos, the sculpture has this very natural stance that just shows off her in a way that catches your attention. It is not only the design or artistic features that catch you but the material used to create her. She looks to be made out of marble. The material alone makes her stand out with how beautiful the marble makes her pop. The features on her has so much detail; adding on to that the realism in the sculpture just makes her presents feel more majestic and powerful. her concept is to show perfection. She looks to be of someone of importance. She is not like other girls that have long flowy hair, her hair is short and curly. One thing that is most noticeable is she is only wearing a robe like clothing that covers her bottom half. She stands tall on a small brick platform. In some way she almost has manly features. Her face is more chiseled than an average woman would have. She also has a muscular torso. For some reason she contains no arms. It looks like it was done on purpose, but I cannot be certain. .
             They worshipped many gods whom they believed appeared in human form and yet were endowed with superhuman strength and ageless beauty. Most gods cheated on their spouses killed one another, and had multiple lovers. At first the philosophy was physical and asked what the final and irreducible constituent of things was. As for architecture all of the monuments are huge.
