            In life I believe that we must all do something good. One way to do good is to support a charity. This does not always mean one must give money. Because we all know that times are hard. All one might be able to do is to volunteer with your time and energy for the charity. That is just as effective in supporting a charity. It is always important to make sure you are helping an organization that is making a difference in the world. The Hearing Loss Association of America is a charity that is making a difference. According to the website Charity Navigator the Hearing Loss Association of America received three stars. HLAA's website stated that there are 48 million people with hearing loss in the United States. More than 60,000 of these individuals with hearing loss have reached out and contacted this charity ("About Us ").
             The Hearing Loss Association of America is the nation's leading organization representing people with hearing loss. Hearing loss has become the third top public health issue after heart disease and arthritis. This is all according to HLAA's website ("History "). It not only helps people acquire hearing aids. It also helps the family learn how to adjust to living with hearing loss. The Hearing Loss Association of America has a mission to impact communication access, public policy, research, public awareness, and service delivery related to hearing loss ("mission ") HLAA also holds annual conventions for people with hearing loss and professionals. HLAA's Walk4Hearing is an example of one of the conventions they hold and it is held in cities across the country in the spring and fall.
             According to their website "the mission of HLAA is to open the world of communication for people with hearing loss through information, education, advocacy and support ". It has a magazine published bimonthly since 1980. This award-winning magazine tells real-life stories of people with hearing loss and their families.
