Film Assignment - Into the Wild

Imagine a world without technology; a world that is "inside " the wild. The open fields of beautiful freshly spilt cover of white fluff. The enormous mountains laying about with white sharp tips. The rushing icy cold water running down the small stream only about knee deep. One man traveling all alone to Alaska. In the movie, "Into The Wild " directed by Sean Penn, shows excellent ideas of scenery, presentation, and explanation.
The scenery was presented magnificently. Some techniques they used to show time passing are fading of the screen, the light changing, for example, when it was night time it was dark outside and when it was sunny outside the light was very bright. There were also reference when the film went "back in time " and back to the "present time. " The setting was also very important in this film because it shows when and how every detail leads to Chris McCandless death. Also, Chris McCandless was shown happy at some parts and sad at other situations. The way the editing and photography emphasized this was when he was smiling when he hitchhiked with different people. When he was sad he would show this by hitting something very hard or not smiling and cusing instead. some reasons he was sad was when he didn't know how to preserve deer meat and it rotted and died. He said it was the worst thing he ever did in his life. Also, he was very sad when he read about the plant leaf and he knew that his life is coming to an end, because he had all of the symptoms that would occur if you eat potato seeds, which are poisonous.
The presentation of the whole entire movie was very good. There were some parts that did not have to be in the movie because they did not make any sense, nor they follow what actually happened in the book. For example, there was the whole nudity scene that the director most likely included into the movie, because he wanted to "entertain the audience, " which did not work; it actually made things more awkward in a way.
