The Parables of Jesus

The outline of this story is about four different types of people and how they perceive the true word of God. In this parable Jesus uses a similarity of a farmer or a sower as he plants his field in the beginning of the season, and then it tells what happens to the four different types of seeds that were planted. In this, we can learn how to be the right kind of person and also it teaches us why sometimes when we try to tell people about God and it does not seem to work. The Parable of the Sower is about a sower who scatters seeds, which falls on four different types of ground. The hard ground represents "by the way side " and prevents the seed from sprouting, and the seed becomes bird food. The stony ground offers enough soil for the seeds to be able to grow, but because it is not deep enough the plants do not take root and are soon die in the sun. The thorny ground allows the seed to grow, but the thorns around them kill the other plants. The good ground receives the seed and produces much fruit. To further explain this parable we can look at each of the parts and break down what they mean. The sower is looked at being a reference to Jesus. The seed is "the word of the kingdom ". There are four different types of people or soils. The first is "The Wayside ", which represents one who "hears and does not understand". The second is "The Stony Places ", which represents the one who "hears the word and immediately receives it with joy" The third is "Among the Thorns ", which represents the one who "hears the word" but is stopped by different things. The fourth is "The Good Ground ", which represents the one who "hears the word and understands it ". As quoted by Tassos Kioulachoglou:.
"To conclude therefore. The Word of God may be spoken to various kinds of people. However, the results will be different as different is the quality of the heart of the people that hear the Word. Thus others will reject it, others will accept it till the first affliction, others will receive it but eventually will put it in the last position putting other things (cares, riches, other desires) over it, and finally others will keep it in a good and honest heart bringing forth fruit.
