The Renaissance - Everything Connects

The Renaissance was a rebirth of European interest of classical knowledge, art, and though. Art helped reflect and show the luxuries of living in Venice at the time. Artists like Leonardo da Vinci, who was considered to be a renaissance man, was able to show people he potential in math and engineering, music, architecture, all alongside to art. With da Vinci's architectural art pieces, beautiful buildings were able to be established. During this time three dimensional pieces were figured out and grew quickly. Art also gave artists the ability to study human anatomy through life-size sculptures, eventually helping to spread science.
Art helped spread science including astronomy and human anatomy. With frequent drawings of the skies at night, scientists were able to figure out that the sun didn't revolve around the Earth, but in fact, the moon and the Earth revolved around the sun. Other inventions included the printing press. With the printing press, books, including the Bible, were able to be mass produced. From there, people could learn how to read on their own and educate themselves on the Catholic religion and decide whether or not they fully supported the church. With that invention, humanism began to spread.
Humanism was the idea that people could make decisions for themselves and that the Roman Catholic Church would not and could not tell anybody what to believe religiously. Humanism, which revolved around humans or the people, was the center of the Renaissance. Of course the Roman Catholic Church was not a fan of the idea. Once people saw explorers traveling west to find land, artists showing how beautiful and untouched everything was, people decided (on their own) that they wanted to expand with the explorers. The new civilizations also created opportunities for new religions to arise. Exploration educated people on the land and the religious possibilities everyone had. Also, European countries were able to trade, which eventually increased trade.
