Capitalism - Inequality of Race and Economics

            The gap between the richest Americans and the poorest Americans is at an all time high. With this gap comes a notable disparity in the wealth and income of different races.The inequality of wealth in America stems from the desire for power control. White domination both past and present has used race to ensure its stay atop all facets of life including economy, politics, etc. Capitalism is the cyclical venue through which white domination enforces and upholds the standards that create racial economic inequalities, and while few pockets continue to get fatter these standards -set by those who wear the pants with those pockets- continue to economically disenfranchise racial minorities.
             Capitalism is perceived to be a system in which the the market competes in a free for all setting where each individual attempts to gain as much as they can. It starts off with meritocracy -principles that assume that a persons gain is solely attributed to his hard work. This is a way of saying that the man with millions in his bank account earned it because he is simply that hard of a worker and the man who lives from paycheck to paycheck saving only his pocket change is in his position because he does not work hard. With that being assumed society is inclined to believe everyone is given an equal chance and that naturally those who are better will climb and vice versa.
             The problem with meritocracy however is that is does not account for the genuine inequality of opportunity. A child's parents being poor may very well be a factor in determining that child's future economic status. He may not be able to attend good school or afford college and after graduating from high school he will probably not have the business connections to procure a well paying job. On the other hand a child who's parents are wealthy will have the best classes and life experiences to build his merit and he will have enough money to afford college after which having a a career or getting a job should be easy because of education or possible family business connections.
