We can now see a lot of works, initiatives and thoughts on this issue. Many conferences, seminars are being held for the protection of green earth many acts and rules have been implemented in the recent past. .
In 1972, this issue came to the light and the world body met together at Stockholm, Sweden for solution. In Stockholm declaration they express their anxiety about the environment and said- 'We see around us growing evidence of manmade harm in many regions of the earth: dangerous levels of pollution in water, air, earth and living beings; major and undesirable disturbances to the ecological balance of the biosphere; destruction and depletion of irreplaceable resources.7 After working on various issues of environment the world council arranged their largest conference on environment at Rio-de-Janeiro, Brazil called the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development-UNCED. This conference was popularly known as Earth Summit. It considered the environmental crisis as a global problem and urges all government as well as individuals to preserve nature. It says: "States shall co-operate in a spirit of global partnership to conserve, protect and restore the health and integrity of the earth's ecosystem. In review of the different contributions to global environment degradation, states have common but differentiated responsibilities."8 .
The world body also includes, indirectly, this challenge as one of the important points of the MDG (Millennium Development Goal) and set up their schedule of the desired goal for sustainable development within a peaceful environment. But without minimizing the environmental crisis it is quite impossible to achieve this target. In fact, Sustainable development is not just about economic growth, it is about improving the quality of life for people and communities; this requires attention to ecological sustainability. Ecological sustainable development can be defined as development that improves the total quality of life, both now and in the future in a way that maintains the ecological processes on which life depends.
