Informative Essay - Illegal Immigration

America has been known as the land that welcomes in newcomers with open arms. Every year, there are well over a million immigrants that enter our country expecting to receive all the benefits of a citizen without going through the arduous process of becoming a legal citizen. Because if the shocking amount of citizens that our country receives each year, immigration has become one of the most controversial and complex issues in our country. In addition, illegal immigrants greatly affect our culture, our economy, and our future. As illegal immigrants are granted citizenship in the US, it encourages more illegal immigrants to come to our country. Illegal immigrants are granted jobs in our country, which suppresses wages and takes away jobs from the American citizens. .
Because citizenship is so easy, it promotes more illegal immigrant to come. Today there are well over 20 million illegal immigrants in our country. 20 million is enough people to populate the three largest cities, New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Every year, half a million more immigrants enter our country illegally. Every country must know how many illegal immigrants are granted citizenship each year and how many of them can be granted citizenship. Frank J Warne remarks ''by restricting immigrants we will give a large body of citizens a decent and comfortable standard of living'' (immigration opposing viewpoints).
There are two ways that people can enter the country, the legal way or the illegal way. Legal immigrants go through the long arduous process of becoming a true citizen, and follow the rules. They wait their turn and they come at the right time and the right way. Almost all Americans agree that immigrants that go through the proper process of becoming a citizen are welcome in our country. Others break the rules and enter illegally. They don't obey our laws and push ahead of the line. There are many illegal immigrants that smuggle themselves in by secretly crossing the US border.
