Film Review - The Italian Job (2003)

It was the highest grossing film produced by Paramount in 2003. Its cast and crew have been nominated over a dozen times and have won multiple awards. The Italian Job is directed by F. Gary Gray, starring Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, Jason Statham, Edward Norton, Seth Green, Mos Def and Donald Sutherland. .
In the film, Charlie Croker and John Bridger assemble a team for one last heist to steal $35 million in gold bars in Venice, Italy. One of the team member, Steve, is driven by greed and jealousy and arranges to take the gold for himself, killing John Bridger and fleeing to L.A thinking he has killed all the gang members. Charlie and his gang "Handsome Rob," computer genius Lyle, explosives expert Left-Ear and the newest member, John Bridger's daughter Stella, head to L.A to take down Steve for betraying the team and killing John. The team stays confident with their master-plan against Steve and hope for a great outcome.
The plan was flawless.the job was executed perfectly.the escape was clean. That being said, the script was brilliant. The Italian Job, being one of my favourite movies, has a very interesting story to it that is easy to follow up with. From to very start of the film to the very end, it was clear what the team members were up to, why they were doing it, what roles each of them played and where the action takes place. The motive is very clear; the film starting with some background information where Steve (ex gang-member) kills John Bridger and flees betraying the whole team. The reason behind the whole master-plan created by Charlie and his team against Steve is very legitimate, making the film more worth watching. The story in The Italian Job is very logical and realistic from the starting to the ending. The script made perfect sense and the film is worth watching.
Many films have a great script that makes perfect sense, but not all of those films are delivered in the best way possible.
