Four Types of Female Sexual Dysfunction

Female sexual dysfunction is a persistent, recurring problem with sexual response or desire that can cause a strain to your relationship. Most women experience this at some point in their lives. It can occur at any stage of life and can be ongoing or an occasional occurrence. Women can experience more than one type of dysfunction including low sexual desire, orgasmic disorder, sexual arousal disorder, and sexual pain disorder. The first type of female sexual dysfunction is low sexual desire. Low sexual desire is a lack of interest in sex. Many factors contribute to low sexual desire, such as hormonal changes, medical conditions or pregnancy. It can also occur when a woman gets bored with their regular sexual routines. Communicating with your partner about your sexual desire as well as resolving conflicts can improve your desire. Each disorder may occur on its own or in conjunction with another dysfunction. .
Orgasmic disorder also known as anorgasmia is the second type of dysfunction. Orgasmic disorder is a lack of sexual climax caused by lack of experience, knowledge, or sexual inhibitions. This can also be a result of psychological factors like guilt, anxiety, depression, or history of sexual abuse. Other factors that cause this disorder are medications, medical conditions, and insufficient stimulation. Often women cannot become aroused during sexual activities, which is considered sexual arousal disorder. It occurs because there is insufficient vaginal lubrication. As with the lack of orgasm, it can be caused by inadequate stimulation or anxiety. Research has shown that blood flow to the vagina or clitoris may also be to blame. Sexual arousal disorder may come from a psychological problem and can be cured by improving your communication with your partner and identifying your needs. .
The last type of female sexual dysfunction is sexual pain disorder. Painful intercourse can be caused by, cysts, vaginitis, scar tissue, endometriosis, or even just poor lubrication.
