The Life of Jackie Robinson

            
             Jackie Robinson made history when he was the 1st ever black baseball player in 1947 when playing for the Dodgers, but why would Branch Rickey the friend of the Dodger choose Jackie. Well his batting average was an excellent .349 and fielding percent of a .985. Even though he was a terrific baseball player people did not like him because of his skin color. At at some of the games the players would not even play with him on the field. Jackie Robinson created an Impact that left the world a better place. The proceeding information will explain his biographic account, early career great work and lasting impact on history. To being with, Jackie Robinson became the first black Major league baseball player because of his childhood. First Jackie Robinson was born January 31,1916 in Cairo Georgia. Robinson was raised by his single mother because when he was born his dad left. Because he was born in the same time of when blacks did not have rights it was hard for him to play and make friends. Second Jackie was the youngest of 5 children. Matthew Robinson his older brother helped Inspire his love for sports. Also one of his older brother won a metal at the Olympics which also Inspired him in 1936. In shortly Jackie Robinson had a harsh childhood and his love for sports came from 2 of his older brothers. At a young age. .
             Early Career .
             In addition, Jackie Robinson early career he was a star player at UCLA and was in the ARMY. Even though it was uncommon for dark skin people to do sports Jackie was one of the best. Robinson was a star football, baseball, basketball player and in track also he was the regions most valuable player for baseball in 1938. However Jackie did not want to do all or this so he left it all behind after 2 years. Soon after he left all of that he drafted into the US ARMY, as a second lieutenant in the US Army was his job from 1942-1944. While "Jackie was in the boot camp in Fort hood Texas.
