Short Story - Reality Check

The ceiling is rugged and covered with minute balled pieces. It's like the little popcorn, and is symbolic of me. The door was a bold red and had 4B on it in gold, rusty copper numbers. I figured that it had some kind of meaning behind it, but I could never figure it out even if I tried. The lights continuously flickered on and off, as though it wasn't already dark enough. I couldn't fathom how or why it wreaked stenches of dead bodies and tar. I could taste the tar building up in my lungs. My eyes watered as the odor began to choke me. Left almost breathless, my heart crumbled when I felt cold metal and pure latex gloves penetrate my skin. I went against everything I believe in, now everything that I knew or thought I knew no longer had meaning. .
Before my feet would move, I fell into a trance. My heart started racing and I began to feel moisture sit in my palms. As I stared down the aisle, into thin air, my mind kept replaying the most horrific night of my life. Once again, I could feel a rush of emotions ready to uproar, but I blinked and in an instance it was the best day of my life. I looked up to see the man of my dreams in front of me. The moment he said I do, I knew that I was going to be alright. It's like; the angels sounded their trumpets, washed away all my hurt and gave me back my peace of mind. I placed myself into the hands of another man, once more, but this time I was surer. .
My husband is Scott Harper. Scott is a manager for a corporate company. I never imagined being with someone successful, but Scott is everything that I ever dreamed of and more. I remember the day we met like it was yesterday; we were both walking down the boardwalk off of 5th avenue. He was walking with his friend and the reflection of the sun off of his chest caught my attention. Scott's Sunkist skin and luscious dark brown hair made me want to get to know him, and once we finally spoke, I fell in love with him.
