Movie Analysis - 500 Days of Summer

She also discovers fates sense of humor, when it uses coincidence in a situation when she meets her husband in a coffee shop. This movie brings society's inner sense of control to the big screen, and reminds itself that each individual life is not its own.
One of the contributing factors as to why this movie is great, may have to do with the captured essence of daily human life. If a director can incorporate real life situations that a person can relate to, then they will be to grab the attention of the audience. Like Tom in a particular situation in this movie, he goes into a scene where he believes that his expectations will overcome reality. Most people in society are subject to doing the same, for the lack of reason; holding onto hope that good things will happen all the time. In another scenario, after Tom and Summer break up, Tom begins to go through the stages of a break up: being desperate for answers, going through denial, bargaining to better himself, relapsing to get the partner to try again, becoming angry and blinding himself to everything, accepting that it's over, and redirecting his hope elsewhere like his pursuit toward architecture. Most people are experiencing what Tom went through as this paper is written; a majority will be able to relate. The appeal of this movie will draw more attention to movie-goers who value movies that intertwine real life situations, along with the dramatics accompanied by music that will lead up to these real life moments.
If people were to love anything more than the movie itself, it might possibly be the music used in it (or rather the soundtrack). The music used in movies can greatly set the tone of the current, or upcoming moments of the scene. Music can also evoke emotions of the scene that will press itself amongst the audience. In the movie, when Tom quits his job, he ponders on what his next move in life should be; then then song Vagabond (by Wolfmother) begins to play.
