The United States of America, the most powerful country, one of the superpowers, the most diverse country in the world, considered to have a stable and democratic government was disrespected by their own political leaders. .
             Since Martin Luther King Jr.'s days of protest towards the benefits of the American citizens, he was wiretapped by the FBI for several years of his life. The FBI was able to know every single movement he said or made because they intercepted every type of communication he had. (McKenna and Feingold, 379) They started a campaign against him because the government thought it was a danger for the American people, but after he passed away, Luther even received a day to honor what he did for the nation. After he passed away, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference helped for Congress to come up with the Foreign Intelligence and Surveillance Act. It consisted of having a judge, before wiretapping, to verify that any special case being investigated like this, met the requirements in order to conduct the surveillance. This Act worked really well for a few decades, but then shocking news published by the New York Times, disrespected every American's freedom. .
