Letter to Ontario Energy Board

As we all know life as we know it wouldn't be the same without electricity, but maybe life as we know it could be better, cleaner, safer, and more efficient. If we truly want to change for the better, we first need to choose better ways and sources of energy. And these would have to be renewable sources, due to the fact that non-renewable sources could one day become scare and our plants wouldn't be able to generate as much power. But this is all in the future. But just because its in the future doesn't mean we shouldn't act now. What we need to do is concentrate on renewable resources. I have chosen two, solar power and hydropower due to the fact that they are the cleanest and most efficient ways of generating power. And here in Canada we have an abundance of both resources.
Firstly, solar power. Here in Ontario we have few to zero industrial/commercial industries that use solar power, now this is a huge mistake. Lets say that half of all the houses only in hamiltion were to install panels on there roofs. The output of energy would be insane. The power alone generated from these roofs would cover the energy needed to run heating and other appliances used in the homes. The amount of power needed would half. Yes I know solar energy id the most expensive method of power, but in the long run, you would be saving millions of dollars that could be use to install more and more panels onto people's roofs or even using useless land and filling them with solar power plants. This would cut down on emissions and also would be creating jobs for Canadians. It's a win, win situation. All we need to do is invest our money into this industry. Yes I know it's going to cost a fortune but like they say, "it takes money, to make money".
Secondly, hydropower. This source of energy is over 25% of Ontario's electricity sources. But in my opinion 25% is just to low. In Ontario there are more then 250 power plants in total these 250 generate about 8400 megawatts of power.
