My product will be even more luxurious if my ingredients were made of a higher standard of quality. Especially the likes of the chicken and vegetables, not only will this support the brilliant organization the ingredients originate from as it encourages my target audience to buy my product and makes them more aware, but it will also ensure my target audience that they are receiving a superior product that is worth every penny. Firstly, I could use fair trade ingredients as not only will this make my product of an even higher standard but it will also help it appeal to my target audience which happen to be elderly people. Fair-trade equals fair prices for farmers and their families in foreign countries. Not only does fair trade guarantee that they are being paid fair prices but they also promise better working conditions and local sustainability. If I were to use fair trade items for my product this would appeal to members of my audience who are interested in endorsing better lives for people living in less economically developed countries (LEDC's), such as Ghana, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Nigeria. It is imperative for companies who buy fair trade to pay the required market price for them; they are gradually becoming more and more popular in the UK as we speak. Unfortunately, because of this reason, this would cause my product to be sold at a much higher, expensive price. This means that this could deter customers from buying my product. However I have faith that many of my target audience will still buy my product regardless to support the brilliant cause. This could make my product suitable for charity events. A common fair trade product is cocoa, which is usually produced into chocolate.
Secondly, I could use organic ingredients, as this would make my product healthier which would certainly appeal to my target audience. Organic foods are foods that have been grown without the use of chemicals, fertilisers or pesticides.
