Jared Odrick - Professional Football Player


            Jared Odrick's job is very mentally, physically, and emotionally tough. He needs to break people apart, rip through holes, and smash people running in front of him. Is he a security guard? No. Jared Odrick at age 27 of Lebanon, Pa is a Professional Football player of the National Football League. One of many to make it to the NFL from Lebanon, Pa. The NFL is very popular in the U.S. a lot of people know about or have seen games on TV or know what football is. .
             Jared Odrick in his high school days to me was blessed with exceptional size, strength, and toughness. He had great skills and consistency of going to ever practice and performing the best to his abilities even going to the gym and did workouts for an additional 2 hours after a long practice. Odrick is a very talented player and with hard work his coaches told him about what he is capable of doing, which made him strive for nothing but success. Odrick was ranked No. 6 in the state to be drafted into the NCAA. He recorded about 80 tackles which 18 of those where for a loss, and roughly 8 or 9 sacks. In high school, Odrick played in the Big 33 Classic Football Game, the U.S. Army All-American Game, as well as First Team All-State.
             Another accomplishment that Jared Odrick achieved was accepted to Penn State University. Odrick was also being talked to by Florida, Georgia, Virginia, as well as West Virginia. With these big name schools trying to recruit he was very surprised and finally was hit with reality of how good of a player he was because of these opportunities. While at Penn State, he recorded 41 tackles, and 5 sacks, a forced fumble, and 3 tipped passes. With these accomplishments it was more than enough to open eyes of the "Bigger Recruiters". After 3 and a half years Jared Odrick was recruited into the big leagues. After talking to Jared he was a little hesitant to talk about this but I told him what this is for and he didn't mind discussing this with me.
