Narrative Biography of Marcello di Rossi

My name is Marcello di Rossi, born in 1508, to an aristocratic family in Florence who held close ties with the Medici family who were rising in nobility (Backman, p. 382). My parents groomed me for the same path to further the relationship between our families, as their rise meant we were set to achieve added fortune and fame. I struggled with my life path. It seemed all of Europe was rising from ruins. With every step in progress, war would wipe out entire cities. As long as I can remember our Galtonia has been in the midst of regrowth and revitalization despite economic depression, but common society can never get ahead- everything is run by corruption in politics and warring Catholics with Protestants. Most titles have been bought; few earned. Corrupt opportunists ensure favor of the rich and damn the poor, for the sake of power. The freedom that should have risen from Martin Luther's teachings ended in massacre for peasants and confusion among either religious side in conflict (Backman, p. 399). .
When I was young, I studied forgotten manuscripts; I discovered my truth in Letters to Atticus- valor of humanism. I was further inspired by Canoniere, and Orlando Furioso, and the mechanics of the republican government in The Prince (Backman, pp.385-388). Most applicable to my life were the 95 Theses (Backman, p. 395), and published letters between Luther and Erasmus. Anything I read ignited my curiosity to understand why our people remain oppressed by the persisting factions and how I can ensure human rights in the true sense. Only a speck are of the rich, and yet they control everything. As a rebel against my family's values, I was sent to university and broke free in pursuit of my own life's purpose liberating the omniscience and self-actualization of every sentient being. .
At university in Germany, I mastered Classical Greek, studied Latin in addition to Hebrew, and focused on Neo-Platonism; my interest keen on henostic spiritual development of man.
