Biography of Gail Anderson

In her early career, Gail Anderson was not an established name, but this does not mean she was not a magnificent artist. Typographically, she was incredibly creative. Anderson worked for Rolling Stone magazine at numerous positions, which I think was one of her major achievements. She first started as an associate and, after demonstrating a lot of skills and techniques, then became a senior art director (Heller, Steven(2010).Gail Anderson[blog post].Retrieved from www.aiga.org/medalist-gailanderson). Also, Anderson zeroed in on many of the concepts of typography that later would define the pages found in many magazines. She also contributed to the widespread electric typographic fashion throughout the 1990s (Heller, Steven(2010).Gail Anderson[blog post].Retrieved from www.aiga.org/medalist-gailanderson).

             Anderson Techniques.
While at Rolling Stone, Anderson could work with art director Fred Woodward (AIGA Medalist) and created her typographic expressionism into a busy office fully of inspirational art, a floor full of drafts: she used different materials like hot metal and wood. This original typography became an expanding vocabulary that included signs and symbols, much like different methods and typical gestures, in turn, influenced many designers who followed her graphic singularity. .
Anderson became the creative director and chair of design for Rolling Stone, and created designs for posters of Broadway and other theatrical plays that were used on billboards all over New York City (Heller, Steven (2010).
