Why We Don't Need Emojis

However, the Japanese developed a uniform emojis alphabet in 2008 to reduce discrepancies between different platforms, and Apple adopted the alphabet 201l, emojis began to spread to a wider and older audience (Bennett). Today most everyone who uses a cell phone has used or been exposed to emojis. Emojis have infiltrated world culture in a huge way; they are not only used in Twitter and Facebook feeds, but they also appear in music videos and photo shoots (Hobbs). However, Darlin's message is that while emojis are used in many places around the world, emojis cannot be used to effectively communicate in every aspect of American culture. However, America is not the only country that would benefit from the expansion of the emoji alphabet. Other countries use certain emojis more than others because those are the ones that most represent their culture. If more emojis were available that represented their culture more, they would not be limited to only the ones that are available in the current emoji alphabet. For that reason emojis creators should not strictly focus on the creation of an Americanized emojis. Such an effort would be short-sighted and inefficient. Because the Japanese created the emojis system to translate Japanese culture, it stands to reason that emojis users in other countries and cultures need emojis tailored to their countries and cultures. (cite French and arab articles) .
Unlike Darlin, the solution I envision requires a two-step approach. The first step would be the creation of a emojis menu that is similar to symbols feature found in Microsoft Office's Word program. If you click on Word's "Insert" tab and select Symbol you get a menu of symbols that you can insert into your document. When one goes into the Symbol menu he or she finds a long list of symbols that include titles such as "Agency FB," "Algeria," "Franklin Gothic," "French Script," and "Wide Latin.
