Wisdom of The Last Farmer by David Mass


            Did you ever think about where all the fruits and vegetables we purchase at the supermarket come from? How you ever consider what how tedious work and dedication have been replace with a faster technology and equipment in order to mass produced and manufacture most of them, how they no longer come from nature, and how authentic work has been completely disregarded and they have been replace with chemically enhanced ones. The farmers are not the only one being harm by this chemicals but also the consumer think about every time u take a bite at a fruit that not only are u consuming that product but all the chemicals too. In Wisdom of The Last Farmer by David Mass Masumoto he goes on to explain how he rediscovers the value of his family's farm and how after coming back home he decides to introduce his father to a whole new way of farming, he goes on to explain into vivid detail of the wisdom his dad has pass on to him, and after his father's stoke he has learned to value and respect all of the lessons learn. Masumoto learns three major lessons from his father the importance of hard work, dedication, and patience will help him assume his fathers role after the stroke. Masumoto understands that after all his family when through as a Japanese immigrant how his dad was able to overcome it and accomplish the family dream of owning their own farm he learns that hard work and dedication pays off and after his fathers stroke he learns to be patience in order to be the man his father needs him to be.
             Masumoto learns the importance of hard work through out his life time at the farm, he sees how difficult it was for his dad to obtain their family farm as a son of Japanese immigrants he grew up knowing how his family was discriminated against and how he had been draft into a war for a country that view Japanese Americans as a potential treat he once told Masumoto "Can you believe that? Lock up our family behind barbed wire and then draft me? (22).
