The Holy Spirit and the Book of Acts

The Holy Spirit is not a feeling that just comes over your body. It is the manifestation of God's power in the earth that is given to born-again believers to accomplish his mission and to live a life of Holiness. The Holy Spirit would use varying types of manifestations, such as miracles, signs, and wonders. Those expressions and manifestations throughout the book of Acts was available to all believers, not just a select few. In the book of Acts, God used ordinary men and empowered them with his presence and they were used for his kingdom agenda. With this paper I will address how the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts was about how ordinary men were used by God to bring forth his "Acts" in the Bible.
The book of Acts could be called the book of the Spirit. [1] In the book of Acts, Luke mentions the Holy Spirit more than the four Gospels combined. It is indicative of the significance the Holy Spirit had in the "Acts" of the Apostles and the disciples. The Holy Spirit in the book of Acts used many people to do the works of the Lord, but the main focus is the Holy Spirit. Without the manifestation of the Holt Spirit the book of Acts would cease to exist. The entire book is about the exploits of the Holy Spirit, the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, and the people used by the Holy Spirit. The one common denominator is was the Holy Spirit. .
The Holy Spirit in the book of Acts is the same one that was with God in the book of Genesis that "moved upon the face of waters."[2] He was the same one that was present with God when he said "let us make man." [3] He was present then and he was the same one that was present at the day of Pentecost. He has not changed because the bible says "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever more. [4] The difference between the two was that the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament was not sent to one person nor was it sent permanently.
