Idealist and Positivist Views of History

The idealist view of history is that all history is the history of human thoughts. Historians learn about human thought intuitively and immediately. Historians can put themselves in the place of who they are researching or studying while scientists cannot do the same. Meanwhile historians can re-enact the past in a very different way than scientist. A study of history is a study of unique events that happened. The historians immediately hold on to what happened without applying any general's laws. All history is the history of human thoughts. An idealist say that what a person thinks about they put in action. They also say that a person's mind is like the controller of what the person ends up doing. They say a person's history is the way the person thinks of it to be. That a person history comes out exactly the way they have thought of it to be and even if the person doesn't know they start to act on their thoughts.
The best objection to idealist view is that one will never truly understand another human being. There is only so much we can try to understand. Human beings are very complex being. Idealist forgot that humans have the power of letting you understand them and also confusing you about what they are about. Idealist say all history is the history of human thoughts but what a person is thinking could mean a lot of things. Also what a person is thinking can only be interpreted and understood to a certain level. For example if I am telling a story about what happen to me and I get to a certain point and I stop. An idealist will probably know what happen to me next but that as far as he could go because he will need me to tell him everything in full details to understand everything that happened to me.
The positivist view of history is that all history is something that will eventually become science. Positivist has this idea of history to be being based on science. They also think the history is science in the making.
