"Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" is action-packed, gut-wrenching, off the wall action from beginning to end. Brad Bird creates a world of live action played out on screen through the eyes of agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise). Here's the dilemma, a Russian has gone completely haywire with nuke capabilities right in his grasp. In the opening scene, a secretive IMF agent (Impossible Mission Force) is taken out by an unsuspecting enemy. The deadly assassin (Lea Seydoux) shadows from the alley and disappears with the blink of an eye. Another IMF agent in the vicinity, Jane (Paula Patton), arrives just in the knick of time to say goodbye to her friend and fellow agent. Anger, rage, and revenge are all that crosses Jane's mind. One problem; Jane needs assistance from the best. She utilizes a hacking expert (Simon Pegg) to create an opportunity for Ethan Hunt to make a prison break. .
Bird leaves Ethan Hunt's identity in the shadows at first, only showing a ball bounce off a wall in a cell to show a depressive side since the death of Hunt's wife. To lighten the mood, Bird implements a comedic scene during the prison break, in which Hunt and Benji have back and forth non-verbal commentary by only using the cameras around the prison. It makes for a funny and relieving break from the constant action and a short grim scene. The chaotic Russian named Hendricks (Michael Nyqvist) is seeking the nuclear launch codes in order to take over the world one country at a time. Meanwhile, Ethan Hunt and his new found team are sent to infiltrate the White House of Russia; The Kremlin. Ethan and his crew are not the only ones on the inside though.
